Same data stream is sent and receive over different physical channels is the concept of MACRO diversity,

In MAICRO diversity  is a technique of multipath propagation improves signal quality by use of RAKE receivers at Node B. that Node B act as a micro diversity point.

In MACRO diversity data stream reassemble , reconstructed in Node B.RNC for outgoing information and receiving same data from different cells on different spread codes for incoming information.
