ANTENNA Resistance

The Radiation resistance which is responsible for the actual radiated power and the loss resistance is responsible for the actual losses in the antenna.
Radiation resistance is defined as the ratio of the power radiated by the antenna to the square of the current at the feed point.
Radiation Resistance
nSignal radiated into space appears as loss from the antenna
nElectrically this translates into a resistance
nFor a half-wave dipole fed in the center the radiation resistance is approximately 70 ohms
Antennas also have actual resistance due to their conductors
